What's included
Unhurried visits to talk through your symptoms, history and goals
Evidence-based hormone therapy when it's a safe fit for you
Non-hormonal options when hormones aren't right or aren't what you want
Support for sleep, mood, weight and energy
Bone and heart health screening as your risks change
Coordination with your gynecologist and other specialists
Is hormone therapy safe?
For many women, yes. The Menopause Society's 2022 position statement concludes that for most healthy women with bothersome symptoms who are under 60, or within 10 years of menopause, the benefits of hormone therapy outweigh the risks. It also stresses that the type, dose and route should be personalized and reviewed over time, and that patches and lower doses may carry less risk of blood clots and stroke.
That's exactly the kind of conversation that needs time. We'll look at your personal and family history, talk through the trade-offs, and decide together. If hormones aren't right for you, there are effective non-hormonal options too.
Perimenopause counts too
Symptoms often start years before your last period: irregular cycles, new anxiety, trouble sleeping, heavier periods. You don't have to wait until menopause is "official" to get help.
Why a direct primary care doctor
A typical primary care visit lasts about 18 minutes. Here, established visits usually run 30 to 45 minutes, and your first visit 60 to 90 minutes. As a member, you have direct access to Dr. Aliganga by text, phone or video, and more availability for visits. Perimenopause and menopause change over time, and your care can change with them.
Stress, mood & the mental load
Anxiety, low mood and burnout often show up alongside hormone changes, and alongside caring for kids, teens and aging parents. We treat the whole picture. Depression & anxiety care for women
